Six Holy City restaurants along Charleston's Hutson Alley participated in putting on the Taste of Huston Alley — serving up tasting plates and fun cocktails to show off their diverse styles.
39 Rue De Jean, Coast Bar & Grill, Michael's on the Alley, Victor Social Club, Vincent Chicco's, and Virginia's on King—all located on the historic and picturesque Hutson Alley—each offered a distinct bite that reflected their varied ambiances.
Wine tastings by Republic Distributing Company loosened up attendees of a wide age range as they mingled to music by the Ronnie Peterson Duo.
One highlight of the night were the unique beers from North Charleston newcomer Freehouse Brewery, especially the Ashley Farmhouse Brew.
Chef Lemieux tosses his popular dish for tasting plates
The resounding favorite dish was Chef Lemieux of Vincent Chicco's butternut squash fettuccini, with oyster mushrooms, smoked pecans, sage cream. It was an understated dish that went great with the cool temperatures of the evening and ensured a line of hungry patrons coming back for seconds.
