FRIDAY 1/29

What: The Steepwater Band Performing Rolling Stones' "Get Yer Ya-Yas Out"

 

Where: The Charleston Pour House

When: 8pm

Deets: The Steepwater Band, an original rock band from Chicago, is performing a special show featuring the classic Rolling Stones live album "Get Yer Ya Yas Out" in its entirety.  In the band's 18 year history, they have toured with Gov't Mule, Hard Working Americans, members of the Black Crowes, Blues Traveler,  just to name a few. Special guests include Guild Ridden Troubador.

How Much: $10; $8 advance

 

What: Stork Club

Where: No. 5 Faber St. 

When: 8-11pm

Deets: Society 1858 of the Gibbes Museum of Art's legendary Winter Party will transport guests to a 1940s nightclub cabaret. The evening will include music, dancing, cocktails, bites, and a series of edgy performances. Guests will have an opportunity to win original works of art by local artists and all proceeds benefit the 1858 Prize for Contemporary Southern Art.

SATURDAY 1/30 

 

 

What: Charlie Post Classic 

Where: In front of Fish Fry Shack, Sullivans Island 

When: 8:30am

Deets: Now in its 33rd year, Charleston Running Club’s signature event honors the memory of Dr. Charlie Post, a Charleston runner, triathlete, and family physician who dedicated his medical talents to Charleston’s running community. Opt for a 5k or 15k course across scenic Sullivan’s Island and help fund a scholarship in Post’s memory through the athletic department of the College of Charleston.

What: 7th Annual Follywood Oyster Roast

 

Where: Brick House Kitchen

When: 4pm

The Deets: This party raises funds and awareness for Warrior Surf Foundation, a veteran-operated nonprofit organization helping vets with PTSD and physical injuries through surfing therapy. The shindig includes all-you-can-eat oysters ($15), live music, art vendors, beer pong, corn hole, food trucks, a full bar, and more. The oyster roast is a family-friendly party.

What: Brew & Blues 

Where: The Music Farm 

When: 7pm

The Deets: Taste unlimited samples of beer from Lagunitas, Holy City, Frothy Beard, Cooper River Brewing, and Lo-Fi Brewing. While you enjoy some of the finest hops in town, jam out to the funk rock and dirty southern soul sounds of local group Weigh Station. Other musical guests include The Night Caps and Tony Magee.

What: Charleston Food Truck Festival 

Where: Lowcountry Local First

When: 11am-5pm

The Deets: Get a taste for some of Charleston's best food trucks at the Fifth Annual Food Truck Fest at Lowcountry Local First. This years festival will host 20 food trucks, live music, and eight bartenders serving up Holy City and New Belgium beer, mimosas, and wine. Featured food trucks include Immortal Lobster, Roti Rolls, Dashi, Pink Bellies, and more. After you get your grub on, have some fun on the jump castles or for $5, shoot 50 rounds of plastic skeet with laser guns. 

How Much: Free, food for purchase.

 

SUNDAY 1/31

 

 

What: Lowcountry Oyster Festival

Where: Boone Hall Plantation

When: 10am-5pm

Deets: Got an appetite for oysters? How does 80,000 pounds sound? Named one of the “top 20 events in the southeast” by “Southeastern Tourism Society, this legendary festival features an oyster shucking and oyster eating contest, live music, flowing libations, a children’s area, and an open-air-style food court showcasing local restaurant favorites. All proceeds benefit charities including The Ronald McDonald House and other local organizations.

What: The PURE Experience Party

Where: PURE Theatre

When: 3-6:30pm

Deets: Eat, Drink, Bid and Win at The PURE Experience Party. Enjoy delicious food and drinks from Indaco, O-Ku, and The Macintosh while live music provided by Minumum Wage and Beach Tiger play. Auctioneer Tom Crawford will be presenting a unique live auction feturing one-of-a-kind experiences, events and more.
