Tile Floor to Die For

My recent trip to Roundtop, Texas for the Antique Fair was such an inspiring adventure on so many levels! Thank goodness my dear girlfriend (and fellow interior designer and Grit blogger) Jenny Keenan organized the entire trip and quite literally steered us in all the right directions... right toward amazing Mexican food and margaritas, of course! She also organized our sweet little farmhouse rental in the middle of nowhere Texas. I was enamored by the home’s charming decor, but especially smitten with the kitchen’s blue and white painted checkerboard floors. I can’t get them out of my head! You never know where you’re going to find good design inspiration...

Patterned floors have been a part of home design since the beginning of time, and for good reason—they lend an undeniable amount of character to any space. Take a cue from this 18th-century French chateau and its cubist tiled floor—to die for!!
