Milliner Leigh Magar in Martha Stewart Living

Have you had a chance to check out the June 2012 issue of Martha Stewart Living? If not, take a look: Our very own Leigh Magar of Magar Hatworks is featured in the "Collecting" section, profiled for her impressive stockpile of more than 400 wooden hat forms. The article, written by Melissa Ozawa and with images by another local favorite, photog Peter Frank Edwards, relays both the collection (which, the writer explains, is both aesthetically attractive and fully functional, as she uses the forms to craft her caps from scratch) and Magar's experience as a milliner. Of her craft, Magar is quoted as saying, "Hats are sculpture for the head. I believe they add magic to the wearer."

Take a look at her work online, or stop by her brick-and-mortar shop on Cannon.
