This is a hidden jewel in Shem Creek. For the mom in your life who loves being on the boat, they have anything you can ask for. If you are looking to give her something to wear, one item in particular that is amazing is their Foxy Fossils. These are sharks teeth found locally that are transformed into earrings or necklaces. They are around $24 and compliment many styles. If you are looking for a local gift for a boyfriend’s mom or maybe an aunt, you can’t go wrong with their coffee and mug set. Charleston Coffee Roasters created a blend just for them, the Shem Creek Blend. It’s a dark roast coffee that is rich, full-bodied, and smooth. These are priced around $20. Lastly, if you are looking for the perfect gift for a boat lover who has it all, consider getting them one of their handmade Christmas stockings. They are $25 and made from upcycled materials from Coastal Cushion and Canvas.

Located in West Ashley, this store has a little bit of everything for any of the moms in your life. For the cook, they have a variety of specialty foods, salts, sauces, and accessories. Mix and match to create the perfect gift basket. Another idea is their Boho Chic hand tied tassel necklaces. They come in a variety of styles and colors. If you have a mom in your life who loves the beautiful Charleston scenes, then consider their Oyster Ornaments by Broken Shells. These are stunning pictures delicately painted inside oyster shells. If you are looking for and ideal add-on to a gift, think about their hand-poured soy candles. They come in 4 oz., 8 oz., and 11 oz. sizes with natural wicks and an assortment of scents.

Urban Nirvana

A gift certificate to Urban Nirvana is ideal for a mom at any stage in life. They have massages of all types, including even pre-natal ones. If they are concerned about skin care, think about giving them the gift of a facial instead. They have locations all over the Charleston area.

Aquarium/ Children’s Museum

As a mom, nothing is better than knowing I have somewhere to take my kids that has already been paid for. When the summers here last forever or it’s a cold and rainy day, the Aquarium or Children’s Museum is the perfect place. If you can’t think of a gift for a whole family, these are perfect and not horribly expensive. A Family Membership to the Aquarium is $169 and includes 2 adults and all of the children that are under 18. The family will also get a discount to the gift shop and emails throughout the year alerting them to members-only events for kids or adults. A Family Membership at the Children’s Museum is $95. The Children’s Museum is great for families with little kids who just like to run and play. They have so many fascinating interactive exhibits that the kids just love.

 If you are looking for the perfect gift for your expecting friend or family member, eat/sleep/play in Summerville is the best baby boutique. You can usually find the owner, Kelly, wearing her newest addition and helping customers figure out what the best options are for them. For kids, she carries toys that are typically made from recycled plastic. Brightly colored trucks are great for boys and for boys or girls, she recommends the Pound and Tap Bench. For $32.99 it is 2 toys in 1 with a detachable xylophone and a bench with hammer. For infants, the Noggin Stick is their favorite toy. It’s small and easily graspable, lights up and makes a noise when it shakes. For moms, she has several types of baby carriers to choose from. There are wraps, which are economical and can carry baby from infancy to toddlerhood. She also has ring slings from Sakura Bloom. They are $98 and come in a variety of colors. If you are looking for something more structured, check out her Chimparoo Trek. These are $170 and come with an infant insert that will carry baby from 7lbs to 45lbs.
