About
Cortney Bishop is the founder of Cortney Bishop Design, a Charleston-based interior design firm launched in October 2011, following a 10-year partnership at Bishop & Barlow in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since then, her work has been featured in Charleston Home and The Atlantan, as well as on Design*Sponge and HGTV.com. Bishop’s clients includes the Oliver Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee, plus projects in Colorado, North Carolina, New York City, and here at home on Sullivan’s Island and the Isle of Palms.
An Atlanta, Georgia, native and graduate of the University of Georgia, Bishop’s passion for creative design hails from a strong family history; her mother was an interior designer, and her Greek grandmother designed women’s clothing. She’s hosted boutiqe rug shows around the world and is an avid collector and supporter of contemporary art, serving on committees and boards at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and The American College of Building Arts. Look for a range of design posts exploring textile trends, color and pattern play.
When she isn’t traveling or honing her trade Bishop enjoys life at the beach with her husband of 10 years, Baker, son Ryder, and daughter Lucy Kohl.
