Each year Coastal Carolina University hosts the Women in Philanthropy and Leadership Conference (WIPL) at the Sheraton in Myrtle Beach. I had the opportunity to go to last year’s conference for the first time and enjoyed it so much, that I marked in my calendar to attend again. Here are five reasons why I think you should attend on Feburary 6th.

1) Amazing Speakers!

Last year’s speakers were awesome. There was a former President of McDonald’s and even a renowned lifestyle author. The speakers weren’t cookie cutter. There was truly a speaker to fit every facet and every interest. I gained a lot of insight, especially from the author (Samantha Ettus) regarding my Pie Life. (You can read my takeaways from last year’s conference here).

This year’s lineup of speakers is extraordinary and include the Bush twins among others.

2) Great Networking!

The conference brings women of all ages together from students to retirees. It is a great opportunity to network and gain insights from your peers. Whether you are looking to make more personal or professional connections, this conference is for you.

3) New Health Expo!

This year’s conference features a Health & Wellness Expo presented by Tideland’s Health. This will be a great opportunity for those whose New Year’s Resolutions involve living a healthier lifestyle to get more information on how to do just that.

4) Get Inspired!

The Conference truly inspired me last year. Not long after the conference, I decided to quit my 9 to 5 job and start pursuing a career working remotely. I was inspired to balance out my life. I’m not saying that you will take as drastic of a measure as I did, but there are many ways that this conference can inspire you to live a happier, more fulfilling life.

5) Short Drive!

The Conference is held at the Sheraton in Myrtle Beach, which is a short-day trip from Charleston. I drove there and back in the same day last year. If you prefer, you can stay overnight in Myrtle Beach. Hotels are affordable with it being the offseason.
